TWO Brits have been found shot dead inside a burnt-out car in the Swedish city of Malmo.

Cops are probing the chilling deaths as a potential double-murder after the bodies were discovered on a dirt road riddled with bullets.

Both victims were killed before the car was set alight and dumped in the Fosie industrial estate, say local media.

The victims are believed to have rented a car in Denmark at Copenhagen Kastrup airport, before travelling the short distance over the border.

Swedish cops say they “have an idea of who they are”, but haven’t been able to identify either of the victims.

The bodies, which were found on Sunday, are now with forensic examiners.

Authorities have ordered a manhunt across Malmo asking for anyone who saw a black Toyota Rav4 between 11:30am and 2pm in the region on Sunday to come forward with information.

Interpol have since become involved in a manhunt for the shooter, according to Swedish tabloid Aftonbladet.

The news outlet added that police are fearing more violence could break out across Sweden.

Cops did not confirm whether they were working with the international crime authority.

Malmo police spokesperson Kerstin Gossé said: “We cooperate with foreign police to the extent we need to progress in the investigation.”

Cops are keeping tight-lipped as the probe progresses.

Gossé added: “There is no information that I can comment on.

“We have identification work going on, there are relatives who need to be informed, after that we cannot disclose the nationality.

“So far, we are keeping tight and restrained so that the preliminary investigation can have its way.”

Gossé wouldn’t be drawn on whether the deaths were linked with gang crime but said “we have to keep everything open”.

The UK government’s foreign travel advice warns tourists to keep wary in Malmo.

The advice says: “Violent crime does occur. Gang-related crime, including knife crime, shootings and explosions, has been reported in Malmö.”

The Sun has contacted the Foreign Office for comment.
